Mass Loaded Vinyl Barrier

Available in two densities as 1lb and 2lb.

Mass Loaded Vinyl is used to block the transmission of noise from an area that is making the noise > to another area that does not want to hear the noise.

The vinyl barrier a flexible material that can be cut very easily with a razor knife or sharp pair of shears . By installing the mass loaded barrier in conjunction with drywall and wall insulation, most loud noises can be reduced dramatically.  To truly soundproof a room or space, you need a very dense, heavy material like sand or lead.  Since lead is not environmentally friendly and sand is too organic Mass loaded barrier was made to take over the job of soundproofing a room.

Keep in mind that the vinyl barrier material is a superior soundproofing material, however, it will not block all sounds at all decibel levels.  Please call us to discuss your application if you feel it is a unique sound proofing project.
